OK well today i figured i'd try to get the box in again. I spent an hour or so removing all the rubber/tar sound deadening from the trunk. I thought this would do it, but the box is still too tall. I tried all sorts of ways to get it in, but it just won't clear.
The first 3 pics show the box hitting part of the frame that hangs down. There's a good quarter or half an inch that it needs to clear.
The fourth pic is how far away the box is from the ski pass, and the fifth shows what i'm running into

All of these boxes are exactly the same size, but BMW does some weird crap.
You gonna be anywhere near Lacey/Olympia anytime soon?

I had similar issues. Luke told me to use the trunk carpet, so I did after removing the tar. I just pushed down and forward and made it fit, and... it fit.
