[Suggestions] New Radio & New Speakers

Well the car I got has no sound what so ever. The stereo blows along with the speakers. So I recently took them out. I'm looking for something not to expensive, then again I don't wanna make the car sound like shit. Anyone have any suggestions for new speakers and a head unit?

Here's some pics of my old stuff.

Task #1: Throw all of that shit away (or sell it for a few bucks on eBay).

How much are you looking to spend? Do you just want a new deck and a nice pair of components? Are you wanting to run an external amp?

I want to spend about no more than 250-300 bucks at the most...and if possible throw an amp in there, but the speakers and head unit are a priority.

It's not going to be possible... even most low end head units are $250-300 them selves.

Hmm, that's fine, I didn't want to dip into the "rim fund", but I guess I can. So how much would 4 speakers cost about?

It is. Low end are the 100-250 head units, but would they have good features? No. Most starting good head units are in that range however. He could pull off a 450-500 dollar system, but wouldn't be awesome. Still, anything is better then 20 year old audio equipment.

I'd get a decent headunit, and then get a nice pair of components for the front. Ditch the rear speakers.

Well, this is going to cost me more than I anticipated. Do I have any other cheaper options? Or should I just play the "waiting game" and save up.

You could probably get a decent used deck for a good price, but i tend to stay away from them as the laser becomes misaligned after a while. Just get that Clarion first, it's probably the best value deck that I can think of.

I'm not bullshitting here but I'm gonna give you a really inexpensive option. I went to Wal-Mart (shut up) the other day and I was checking out their stereo stuff (shut up again) and I saw a really cheap deck that looked like it would fit in the interior perfectly. It's the JVC KDS-10. It has that bland display like the OBC has, and it is amber illumination under a dim sort of dark amber background. Check it out:

It looks red in this picture, but it really is amber. Check it out in person at your local store if you don't believe me.
It's a hundred bucks, so don't expect it to have a stockpile of features nor have audiophile sound. It does look cool, though.
I retired my E30 for now...
