Just curious what to do with my rear deck. I faded my music to the front as much as I could so I'm looking to take the rear speakers out completely as they seem a bit useless. Thanks

Whats the thoughts on a couple JL 6w3's in the rear deck?

Go look at how the convertible trunk lids stay up.
Those rods are the trunk springs.
Those JLs are just gonna flap and fart when you put anything over about 20 watts to them, and they will need 50 to make any noise. You will NEED to put them in a box, and that will be a raging pain in the ass no matter how you do it.
If you must do something like that, use the Tang Band from PartsExpress: http://www.parts-express.com//pe/sho...number=264-832
Those will suck less.
Personally, I think you would be amazed at how little space one of the 10" boxes I build takes up. They are only 4" deep at the top, and since that space is angled, you really don't miss it.
See if JParkr will PM you a pic of his. Plenty of bottom on HALF of a $150 4 channel amp, with a 10 year old cheap ass Phoenix Gold woofer!

Ehh what do you know. You know what I think I'll do....I think I'll try the Tangs but only because I want to:) I dig your box and I've read how well it functions but I don't want much bass and if I can get just a little by using the rear deck all the better for me. I listen to mostly conservative talk radio so I don't need bass unless I decide to switch over to the ipod. You know what though you stereo guys are all the same in the sense that whenever I talk about a little bass you try to sell me on more. I talked to a guy at Best Buy who does installs on the side and he instantly went to an over the top install that was going to cost 2400. I said dude that's 1k more than I paid for the car so no thanks. Great story right?

Thanks, I needed a laugh this morning.
Just to reiterate, you aren't going to do anything in the rear deck, I'll tell you now. You'll spend 10x the time and money working on it.
You should get a nice set of earbuds instead. Put one in your right ear and the other up your ass so you can feel some bass. Take the smart-ass stick out of it first though.turk@gutenparts.com
