Help!! What did I fuck up? HVAC & windows inop, brake lining light on

Swapped out a starter solenoid yesterday. Disconnected the battery beforehand but on one start I didn't secure the ground cable and it hit the post while I was wrenching. Now my Brake Lining light is on, HVAC blower doesn't blow, AC/recirc buttons don't light, and power windows don't work. The car starts and runs, headlights and turnsignals work, and the radio plays. Help!!!

Starter incorrectly wired up, something about the unloader relay or something?

Cool. I'll look into the unloader relay. Now that I think about it, I did have it hooked up wrong at first. And now when I turn the key to position 1 I don't get the "click click" I normally get under the hood. I looked in the Bentley last night but the wiring diagrams in that are kinda crap and the E30 one doesn't even cover my car (91 318is). Could the starter still be wired incorrectly? Or did I just blow that relay? Thanks guys!!

One of the grounding posts on the starter may be bad. Same thing happened to me.

I think I have it. I wasn't even thinking about the unloader relays. The solenoid I put on was slightly different from the one coming off and I think that made the difference. It was explained very well in this other thread:

                        I'll try that tonight.

wooooooo. fixed! both the small wires go to the same terminal on the solenoid.

now if I could figure out why my coolant is running at 3/4 of the temp gauge, I'd be in business :)

                            good job!

I would go borrow a thermometer, like the digital laser ones.

Is the ground tight on the back of the coolant gauge?
