Well, I don't mean to stomp on your stuff here man, but what you dropped on us so far is pretty heinous. So far, it is more expensive, takes up more space, cuts into the body of the car pretty extensively in a fairly major side impact safety/strength zone and now you say it doesn't even hit as good as a decent 8"?

WTF, man, I have heard that same woofer in a buddies car, it hits solid and low...but the box is twice the size of both of yours AND properly designed, not just a "build it this big" kind of thing (WHY are sealed boxes always hackery?) and it only has 1 of those woofers!

So get to work, man. Show us some good shit. As much as that install hurts my eyeballs, I admire your efforts. I grew up doing this shit full time, in a "real' shop, so the impetus it takes to get started is something I don't even remember...hell, it was damn near 30 years ago!

Here, let me give you an idea of how far you need to go to get things pretty: Here is a box in an X5. Look how I built a normal angled front box, then built little side panels that fit nearly perfect with the side areas

Then, upholstery becomes a simple(r?) task:

Take the time to get a nice smooth, sculpted look before you try wrapping it. If you must do vinyl, try for no square corners and heat the backside with a hot air gun so it stretches easier. Here is an extreme example:
