With no experience in electronics, especially with aftermarket alarm systems I need some input about my current sittuation.
I have a pretty nice and reliable aftermarket alarm installed on my car. Comes with keyless entry, automatic window roll up etc... The only issue is that the remote housing is falling apart. The electronics in the remote's electronics are still intact. I contacted the company who made that kit but unfortunately its been disconnected for almost 10 years now. Contact has been difficult with them, but they said I can send in my remote and he can simply transfer the programming frequency to an updated modern remote.
Anyone in the business hear of such a thing? In order for me to do this I require to put my car in storage for a week since I don't have access to the remote.
Removing the alarm system with a new one is out of the question so I'm trying to salvage as much as I can with the current one.
