And just to check, is fuse 10 ok, and the blower motor working?

My friend got baked out of his mind one day and decided it was a good idea to wire up his headunit right then and there.

Whenever the radio was on, the drivers side taillight came on dimly, and got brighter with the volume knob.

Alright, so I pulled Fuse #19 and the window switches are illuminated with the door open. Also Fuse #10 is not blown.

Where do I go from here?

edit: Oh and I forgot, My blower motor works but the rear de-fogger does not work.

Your car is a bit different since it is constant.

First, pull fuse 17 and see if your window switches turn off. If they do, reinstall the fuse and pull relay K5 out and take note if you can hear the relay click upon removal/installation.

If your blower motor is working properly, (with the ignition) you should not.

I pulled Fuse #17 and my windows still worked. I went ahead and pulled Relay K5 and never heard a click during removal or reinstallation. I pulled relay K5 about 3 times to make sure I didn't miss the click the first time.

Could you elaborate on the last part? My blower motor shouldn't work or I shouldn't hear a click when pulling Relay K5?

Relays K5 and K7 share the same control, so one should always be doing the same as the other relay. The blower motor happens to be one of the things controlled by the other relay, so if that was working correctly, the other relay controlling the windows should be as well. That relay controls the windows through fuse 17, which since fuse 17 apparently is not what powers the windows anymore, negates any control the relay has.

Does your window circuit breaker still turn off the windows?

My window circuit breaker still works, I found this out the first time I got the car and the windows didn't go down. But I will go ahead and re-check that again.

edit: I just confirmed that it does work. I cuts off all power to the switches, no lights and no power.

Ok, pop it out of the console or dash and take a look at the wires on the back. There should be a green/blue and a green/gray wire. Both wires are the same size and use the same style connectors.

Alright, I popped it out and it looks exactly as you described it. What is the next step?

Ok, if you have a power sunroof, check if it works with the ignition off as well. If it does not, you need to follow the green/blue wire from the circuit breaker to the non-factory splice. Behind the radio is usually a good place to start.

If you do not have a power sunroof, or if it works with the windows, look for C302, I have attached a pinout of it. It is under the LH dashboard, to the left of the pedals towards the top, right behind your ABS computer. Make sure the green/blue wire goes to pin Q. If it does, unplug it and see if the windows stop working.

Alright, so I did as you said and my windows stopped working, but while I was down there I noticed a couple things out of the ordinary.

                        1. The PO had jumped some wires to green/blue for the windows and another wire to this fat red wire. Long story short, he tried to put power seats in but failed.

                        2. There is a second green/blue that isn't connected to anything. Also it doesn't seem to fit anywhere. (Picture Below). Would anyone happen to know where it goes to?

After taking out the PO's wires i connected everything back up and now my window switches only light up when the key is turned to accessory. Hopefully my battery will not die on my in 2 days of it sitting.

There are other things, but not related to windows so i'll start my own thread.

Thanks so much DaveSmed for taking the time to help me trouble shoot this problem.
