Questions:
1. The RE Audio SRX10d4 seems to be out of stock everywhere. Could use the SRX10d2 but then would be limited to running the PPI amp at 4ohms on the 5th channel. My question: is there any other sub someone would recommend that has a 6" or less required mounting depth and an overall diameter less than 11"? More Xmax the better... the RE's is 18mm. Nothing requiring 400w or more RMS.

2. Is there a better alternative to using the tar based roofing stuff to seal the back wall? Dynomat is too pricey and need not apply.

Alright so we all know there is no easy way of doing a system (with a sub) in our verts. This thread is just going to document my method of attack. WARNING: Metal will fly!

The Plan:

Headunit - JVC KD-R810
***Bluetooth using rear USB input
***IPOD & USB utilizing front USB input

Amplifier - PPI S580.5

Sub - RE Audio SRX10d4

Interior Speakers -
***Front - Infinity Reference 5.25" Components
***Rear - Whatever 2 way aftermarket 6.5" Speakers I have lying around

Box - Sealed 23"W x 11"T x 8.5"D (Exterior Dims w/ 3/4" MDF) ~.83 ft^3

This is not going to be fun, and I am going to hate hacking into the 2 rear walls to "port" this thing into the cabin... but you do what you gotta do. This is a weekend cruiser and not a track car so I'm not concerned. I NEED good sounding audio in my vehicles so it's a no brainer for me.

Going to cut 2 5"square holes in the two rear walls and seal the front of the box to the wall of the trunk using closed cell foam. Am also going to use that tar based roofing stuff to seal the holes in the rear wall so that the sub stays sealed to the inside of the cabin.

I've got the box built and it fits like a glove. Just have to build the flange and gasket on the front of it to seal it to the wall. So far this is what I have done until some equipment starts rolling in.
