OK, Im not totally sure what you're asking about, but I'm assuming that you want more power to your audio system. In which case you DON'T want more voltage! You want more amperage, which you can easily get from upgrading your alternator.

      ok,
yes your right, how do i go about upgrading alternator ?
buy a bigger one, if so from whom ? or what car ?
can it be found on 5, 6 or 7 series bmw's manufactured before 1990 ?
      or just a new volt/amp regulator from 5, 6 or 7's ?
      thanks again,
      frank

Well you probably wouldn't go with a BMW one, most likley an aftermarket one.

Stinger designs and engineers technology that makes your drive more fun on-road, off-road, and off-shore. Built for audiophiles by audiophiles our products span infotainment and radio upgrades, car, powersports, and marine audio upgrades and all the installation accessories to make those enhancements easy.

Stinger makes good ones, so I've heard. They go all the way up to 270amp, but I'm sure you won't need that much.
