After considering what Josh pointed out, as well as mixed reviews from others, I decided to rebuild my iPod Car Dock. This time I made it much sturdier(sp?) and I added a storage tray. Overall I feel that I not only improoved the fit, but made it much more useful. Pics:

I seriusly considered making a drink holder in the extra space but thought it would be to difficult to get the vinyl to cover the inside without wrinkling...

I've run into problems trying to get the vinyl to not wrinkle so I'm not really sure what to do now... I could try to make a pattern and sew a cover for it... or find some seriously stretchy vinyl... Anyone have any suggestions?

Looks great man. Use that Ipod to it's fullest. You have it wired to the headunit right? Those FM transmitters (atleast the ones I've heard) gives way too much noise.

As for vinyl I don't know. I think that looks great as is, I don't know if the vinyl would be too flashy. Like right now it looks like it's supposed to be there.

So today I went out to buy a Pioneer DEH-470MP and ended up buying an Alping CDA-9847 instead. I am very happy with it so far. I love the look of it. It looks like black anodized aluminum, but I doubt it is. It matches the car great. Pics:

As far as the vinyl goes, try using a heat gun to make it stretch/shrink into/around it. Don't get it too hot though or it will melt/burn.
