    My e34 stereo build

I've had a stereo in the e30 for a little bit until it got stolen, so I left that car alone with a radio/cd player delete :)

E34 is my DD so I figure I might as well do a simple stereo to my liking... I like full range sound so a sub was a must.

So far I've gotten the following-

    alpine cda-105 (had 103bt in the e30).
mb quart onyx 4.125 4 channel amp
polk audio db 12" 4ohm sub
    Luke's e34 sealed 12" box.

I have two sets of polk db 5.25" speakers, a bunch of premium e32/e34 mids/tweeters to play with as well. I have not picked up a component set as of yet, since the e34 has "3 way" or 3 speakers per side I am not sure yet (haven't looked) how they are wired exactly.

My last "serious" system was years ago with an alpine 7995 headunit, phoenix gold zx475ti amplifier and image dynamics chameleon cxs62 2ohm components and two idq v2 12" subwoofers. It was perfect, clean/balanced sound, lots of midbass and could get loud while still being clean.

Obviously this system is not the same, but I am hoping to keep it on the budget and still have a good balanced sound that can get loud and clean.

I do listen to lots of different music (some old rock/rap, some jazz and vocal stuff), drum and bass is one of the musical genres as well so it requires strong and clean deep bass.

I'll update this thread as I make progress.

Ordered MB Quart ONX4.125 amp yesterday form sonicelectronix and it arrived today!

I am going to use the front 2 channels at 125x2 to power front speakers and rear two bridged at 500x1 ... should be enough :)

Lol...well in this case enough where I won't need more power.

Any suggestions on BURLY front mids for e34? Something that can cross LOW and move some AIR / provide some strong low/midbass and sound clean?

They don't have to be components, I am open to making my own crossovers or basically piecing it together.

Wait until I get to be a PPI dealer and get a set of their 3 way components?

Or, get them from this guy:

The Grizz mentioned is the guy I have known for 20+ years, he is spearheading PPI and Soundstream returning to their glory days, but with made in China stuff.

I believe that bad ass little mid will fit in our stock location...I know the 6.5 will fit, with the adapter plates I plan on making.

These are stunning, IMO, on paper. I have not heard them yet. They are also sold as Soundstream, identical product.

Or, I might be willing to sell my KEF KAR160s...NIB from what, 1994?

I would LOVE a set of Fosgate "Audiophile" 6.5's in that location.

I sold my US made Infinity Kappa 6.5's or I would sell you those.

Let me know how that MBQuart works out... Im interested.

500 watts bridged... should be higher if you are running sub on 2 ohms

luke are you going to do 6.5 kickpanel plates like that for the E34? The ones I made aren't nearly as nice and I'd gladly buy and set.
