I've had a stereo in the e30 for a little bit until it got stolen, so I left that car alone with a radio/cd player delete :)
E34 is my DD so I figure I might as well do a simple stereo to my liking... I like full range sound so a sub was a must.
So far I've gotten the following-
alpine cda-105 (had 103bt in the e30).
mb quart onyx 4.125 4 channel amp
polk audio db 12" 4ohm sub
Luke's e34 sealed 12" box.
I have two sets of polk db 5.25" speakers, a bunch of premium e32/e34 mids/tweeters to play with as well. I have not picked up a component set as of yet, since the e34 has "3 way" or 3 speakers per side I am not sure yet (haven't looked) how they are wired exactly.
My last "serious" system was years ago with an alpine 7995 headunit, phoenix gold zx475ti amplifier and image dynamics chameleon cxs62 2ohm components and two idq v2 12" subwoofers. It was perfect, clean/balanced sound, lots of midbass and could get loud while still being clean.
Obviously this system is not the same, but I am hoping to keep it on the budget and still have a good balanced sound that can get loud and clean.
I do listen to lots of different music (some old rock/rap, some jazz and vocal stuff), drum and bass is one of the musical genres as well so it requires strong and clean deep bass.
I'll update this thread as I make progress.
