Hum / whining noise through speakers.

Hey guys I just recently finished my audio install in my e30. Today I noticed though that I am having a small bit of a/c hum/ whining noise coming through my speakers. Its a bit louder when the air conditioning is on. I have everything grounded and it sounded great but now Id like to eliminate that noise as its very annoying.

Could the stock ground wire that I crimped on the back head unit for ground be bad? Do you guys usually make a better ground for the head unit? Any options to fix this issue would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

The ground may be fine. How are signals routed (how are you getting signals from the HU to the amp in the trunk)?

I have the rca's running through the center console to the rear. And the speaker wires running along both doors to the 4 channel amp. Hopefully some pics will help?

Does the whine change tone with engine speed?

Yes, when I rev my engine it gets louder and a higher pitch.

This is an ooooold installer trick. If it works, it also means your deck is bad.

check your RCA cables. I had the same problem on mine. Turned out to be bad RCA's. Also how much gain do you have on your amps right now? you could be amplifying the noise too.

Sounds like your car is haunted. Does the whining sound German? If it tells you to invade Poland, don't do it.
