Thanks for this! I just followed your DIY and did a successful install on my 1988 325is. I'm only using the lock/unlock with parking light flash + siren function. 2 relays + some diodes got the job done.

My only concern is that the wireless key range is pretty short. Is the black wire that comes out of the main alarm module supposed to be an antenna?
