What the F@ck is this wire???

I guess I should consider myself lucky that the rats nest behind my factory stereo is generally decipherable, but I'm lost on this one wire, and what it should connected to. I don't know if it was connected or not. As I was pulling the wire puke out of the dash, there was a little resistance, but I can't find a place to plug this back in...

It's a white wire coming out of a clear connector. it looks like it could be factory, but I've never seen a connector quite like this. The end of the white wire came from somewhere behind the heater controls or the OBC, both of which appear to be functioning okay.

Oh, and the wiring harness for the rear speakers is crazy...

There was another single white wire that plugged into the back of the stereo already. Where does this plug-into then?

The single wire from the deck is used to power both the amp turn-on (your car is Premium Sound) and the antenna. All USE30s came with power antenna, they added the PS harness to the already existing antenna wiring at the factory (because car audio was a goddamn afterthought on these cars) so you get drek like a stupid 2 way connector to join the systems...since BMW were too lame to have a dedicated power antenna output wire.

Thanks Luke, I just started stripping back the rats nest of shit behind the deck this morning, and German Engineering doesn't seem to apply here... My god, what were these people thinking...

So, there was an extra wire connector (agreed, it does split of the power antenna lead). Was it just hanging freely behind the stereo, or did it plug into something else. Not that I can figure out what that might have been.

No, PO had a RF Pioneer CD changer. That is the control unit for it. It's now sitting on the floor of my garage. Filling the empty hole with this, since it is lying around and I need to fill the hole.
