    OBC light bar... $100.00?

I got finished swapping in the junkyard High Obc and noticed the backlights were out. so I ran up to the dealer, where I used to work, and the parts guy is friendly with me, gives me good prices...Well the OBC light bar is still 100 bucks. WTF?
I found that a similar bulb is available from radioshack for cheep, I just have to solder it to the small board.

Also I got my OBC from What I thought was a 325e. But the coding plug says 3-1.2TYP, which should be 325i in 1987, according to a website I found. My car is a 90 which I think should use the 4-6TYP.

The coding plugs change things like injector size, tire size, fuel tank capacity, etc.., so if I have changed things like tire size, bigger injectors, axle ratio, should I even worry about the coding plug? is it gonna mis-calculate fuel mileage?

Light bars used to be $30 from the dealer. Did they go up ? $100 is ridiculous. Get the radio shack bulbs.

You can replace the bulbs with a pair of LED's and a resistor for just about a buck or two. Did it in mine and it works great. Stock color, and should never need to be replaced again. It requires some basic soldering skills, but so does replacing the lightbulbs.

regardless, you fuel mileage will be miscalculated due to bigger injectors

Ive got the radioshack bulbs soldered in. I was wondering if anybody knows, Do I need this large black relay box that connects to the OBC with the green connector? and if so does it need to have both plugs plugged in? I dont see anything under my dash to plug into the second plug. I think it might be for an alarm system so it might not be needed, but im not sure

I did this to an OBC that I sold right before I sold it. Worked great.

Ever since this swap I have a new idiot light that comes on in my cluster. its a green one with two arrows, almost like a turn signal indicator, on the bottom row. It only comes on when i turn the key on, just like all the other idiot lights, so im not worried about it, but im just wondering what the hell it is

Certainly go the radioshack / solder bulb direction, however a quick bavauto search..

Computer Light Bar - for on board computer ( OBC )
                  Part # : 65 81 1 375 461 $ 34.95

Dealers are starting to get rather greedy, they wanted 280 bucks (with discount) for an O2 sensor on my E34 Touring. Quick BMA order and it was 56 bucks. Same bosch part.
