I just installed front speaker and there's just so much gap all around.
I read many people talking about how it's going to sound so much better if you seal the speakers.
So someone please teach me how to do it.
Thank you in advance.
You could try some foam weatherstripping tape. Home Depot sells it. The real trick is sealing the left side where all the wires go in/out. I tried piling up sound deadening, but it ended up being a real nuisance when I wanted to get in there again.
Personally, I wouldn't worry about it. There is so much road noise, and even sealed-up those front speakers make little or no bass, that having them unsealed probably doesn't matter.
yes, you're right bmwman91. I havn't thought about the big openings for the wires.
I don't think it would do any good of sealing those small gaps and leave that big area open.
Then, anyone with any good idea to seal up the space where all the wires come out?
If you can find some neoprene rubber foam, you might be able to cut a ring & some blocks to get it all sealed up in a way that wouldn't leave a mess in the future.
My recommendation is to not worry about it. I tried all sorts of stuff down there over the years in an attempt to get good sound for little money, and the only way I ever got a real improvement in sound was by installing tweeters & a sub lol.
installing tweeter & sub... I guess that's what I gotta do. How were you able to fit the tweeter in the tweeter pod? I saw your post and the pictures, but I can't figure it out. I got the tweeter out out of the pod... and how do you put the new one in there? Do I need to take out the stock tweeter out of the plastic ring that its attached to and use that to mount the new one back on?
No, just pop the old tweeters out, use a quality superglue to hold them in. I prefer "Zap" brand, from a local hobby store. I get the thickest they have, and the acclereant.
Do your best to make sure they have no gap between the tweeter and the housing.
I use "3M Strip-Caulk" to seal the woofers in. For the hour or so it takes, it really doesn't do shit, the real issue is the location more than anything.

my tweeter is from alpine spr-13s component system.
It's 1" tweeter with 1.5" mounting bracket.
If I leave the bracket on, it's too big for the pod(pic#1) and if I take it out, it's too small(pic#2). So I was thinking maybe I need to take out the stock tweeter out of the ring it's in and glue it in to that(pic#3)
Am I correct?

oooops, haha... I knew I did something wrong, lol~
At least I still havn't worked on the other pod yet.
Ok, so I need to take out the mounting ring and glue that back on the pod with the grille, then glue the new tweeter on there right.
I think I've seen in bmwman's install thread picture where he removed everything like I did, so I thought that was the way to do it. Well now I know. Thanks Luke.
For reference, I left the mounting ring in the pod. I got the new tweeter to fit because I have easy access to a lathe & mill & was able to modify the tweeter's plastic housing to fit perfectly. For your install, it might be easiest to buy some used tweeter pods from someone.
You could always try trimming the Alpine tweeter's trim ring so that it fits reasonably well in the pod & then glue the hell out of it. It probably wouldn't give a super clean look though, unless you can somehow get the stock grill back on there.
