    e36 window switch help

ugh..i got 4 sets of switches from the junkyard and none of em seem to work.

i got 2 with white bases and 2 with green bases, and both seem to have the double click auto down feature.

the white switch has part #1387388 and i'm assuming this is the "small base."

the green switch has part #8365300.

the problem is that when i connect the gray/red==green, and wire the 2 brown wires to the brown on the switch, the light comes on, but when i try the other 2 wires nothing happens.

i've tried hooking the switches up to a 9v battery+test light and all lights come on, but when i click the buttons and probe the other 2 wires nothing happens.

    did i just waste $20?

If they are the one touch switches, then yes you did waste your money :/

gahhh! i bought these at the junkyard after i had skimmed through the DIY. i remembered reading that the one touch feature wouldn't work without some sort of module, but figured that it'd function normally otherwise.

None of the small base switches work without adding a control box. (Green, Blue, Black, White and Yellow)

Only large WHITE OR BLUE base work in plug n play sense.
