    Good Brands For Componet Speakers?

I'm lookin at what I want to get for new speakers. Here are some idea's I've had from pokin around teh interweb. Also, I'm trying to keep it looking stock, so I'd like to stick to 5.25" woofers.

    Infinity 5010cs Componet Speakers
    MB Quart DSD-213 Componet Speakers

Any other good brand names? Have you made a particular purchase you are very happy with? Bad experiences? etc...

      www.thezeb.com is good as well.

Look for some Infinity Kappa components. They are cheap online, check eBay too.

I have an older set of Kappas and love them. Very clean and crisp sounding, even running off an old radio/tape deck with my MP3 player plugged into it.

Personally, I love my Boston Acoustics component speakers. I currently have one set of their lower range 6.5" components and will get another set of their middle range ones to complete my system soon.

They sound crisp and clean, deliver quite decent punch for splits and have been extremely reliable. I reccomend Boston 100% if you are after a quality product that sounds fantastic.

I've had real good luck with bostons also, I have a set of there rally line speakers(that they don't make anymore:curse: ) in my 99 toyota tacoma that I put in back in 2001. they still sound good and I have had ZERO problems with them. I also use my truck for fourwheeling and alot of riping around on gravel roads, my dash/door panels are covered in dust more often then not, basicly the worst environment for a car stereo to be in.
and like I sayed I have had ZERO problems with my bostons.

I'm about to get a set of boston pro's for my 325i. I did alot of shoping/lestining this time around and the only thing that IMO came close to the bostons were Focal speakers. but I'm still going to pay $100 more for the bostons. they just sound so much cleaner than anything else.

My Infinity Kappas are way too bright. They are clear and crisp but they are harsh!

I just bought some, although I have yet to put them in. CDT make some better speakers than eD though.

Oh well. I am sure that Boston's wouldn't dissapoint either. Mine have been absolutely awesome and these days you can find some fairly good prices on them too.

Comparing my Kappa components to MB Quart Reference components, the MB's are might harsher and brighter. They have titanium tweeters. They also produce less mid-bass than mine. I have ceramic tweeters and and noticiably more mids.
