I prefer it over one with a CD player. no moving parts should mean that short of electrical problems it will last forever

but I bought a used/refurbished one for $120.

it was actually new when it came to me. I thought it was broken because there was a set screw in the front holding the panel on. It wouldn't turn on or detach. I emailed the seller for a refund and then as I was packing it up I noticed the screw. Unscrewed it and front came off, plugged it back in and it worked. Probably why it was returned in the first place for all I know.

As for how I like it? I like the fact there's no moving parts. Swinging doors, CD mechanisms, etc. break/wear out over time and I don't use physical media anymore. I bought it because my old pioneer doesn't work with iPhones. It has an input for non-apple gear. can connect via bluetooth and I don't have it set up but can do hands free phone via BT, too.

It's just a control interface for my apple gear so there's not much to say other than it works...and I was able to match the colors to my dash.

Looks nice. The only issue i can see is the knob falls off. Thats just my observation from the used ones for sale i've come across. So if i were you i'd contact pioneer and order a spare just in case it breaks a couple years down the line and they are NLA.

I've got a JVC 900. Gets along well with apple stuff.

You can navigate the ipod/iphone with the HU, but it's a pain in the ass, as the display is tiny and can lag pretty bad if you're trying to scroll through all your songs and pick one before the stoplight turns green. Seems way easier to just grab your ipod and change songs on that.
