    Removing tweeters from tweeter pods?

Yet another dumb question about an issue inherited from my idiot PO. My door tweeters are not wired up or functional, and the pods and/or doors have busted off tabs, thus the pods rattle around loose in the doors with a big gap. In order to anchor down the pods, I'd like to remove the weight of the actual tweeters. Is the tweeter separable from the pod? If so, how do you take them apart? Note that this is strictly cosmetic - I have no need for functional tweeters, just looking for rattle reduction and better appearance.

Also, chewing gum failed, so I'm planning to use a tiny black sheetmetal screw to hold the pod to the door. If there's a better method, let me know.

A strip o' the foam style double sided tape will do fine to keep it in place, assuming you clean everything.

I used a flathead screwdriver and carefully popped it out.

The 20 year old glue is quite brittle.

They are easy to remove. A screwdriver to pry with, and some needle-nosed pliers are all you need.

The other day, I removed tweeter pod being held up with some caulking, it worked really well.

Why not just buy a set of trim panels without tweeter pods? Hell, someone wanting tweeters might even trade you straight across.

Done - Thanks for the tips. Now I get the premium sound look without the premium sound sharp-pointy-tweeter-pod-launching-into-my-vulnerable-lap-area-on-hard-left-handers excitement vibe.
