I have said it before, I will say it again: ALL head units suck ass.

There is not one single deck I actually like!
Exactly! I want something old looking so it will match...but I want the functionality of a new one...fuck.

Cheap though, $115 and $135 at WalMart

Thanks...I guess. I can change the color on my current one so I've seen it as green, purple, blue and white.

However I would still like a pic of an alpine unit actually installed just to get an idea of how odd it will look...

I have a pioneer in right now and I can't stand the blue. I'm actually going to be looking into a new deck soon and amber color is one of the defining factors.

Anyhow hopefully this will help you out, PS ftw.

    Your current one turned blue-ish

Then I tried to put your new one in, even added noise so it matched the pic lol

    Hope it helps

Yeah I tested the CDE-123 at Cartoys and I'm pretty sure you can't, unfortunately. That's where Pioneer and Kenwood are both tempting, but I want the rear usb port and that only comes on this Alpine and high-end Kenwood ones, that's what the sales guy said...

Do you have an Alpine headunit? I need pics...

Currently I have a Kenwood KDC-X693 and I LOVE the orange lights, it closely matches the orange of everything else...

...however, it has an EXTREMELY clunky interface that makes using it on the road time consuming and dangerous and that, alone, makes me want to replace it.

I have been checking out Alpine's headunits and the only thing holding me back is the blue lighting. That's where you come in, I need to see some pictures of an Alpine headunit installed in an E30 so I can get an idea of how different it will look.

The specific headuint I'm looking at right now is the Alpine CDE-123.

    This one:

    Thanks guys!
