I like like my DEH44 like Luke suggested. The colour matches perfectly and it not bright nor obnoxious. It has a dim setting so it does not blind you at night. I would like it better it it had the usb port in the back of the unit but I have gotten used to it up front. There is a one button toggle to switch between HU iPod control and iPod control so having the iPod sitting in that cubby up front sometimes comes in handy. Also the interface is pretty nice. Everything seems straight forward as far as settings and I think it sounds pretty good. Here is a picture of it after Luke installed it.

I can get more if people are interested.

Told ya. Pretty odd. On mine, IF it were red/orange, I think it would match very well with the rest of the HVAC panel.. But alas, it isnt

This is the unit that i installed into mine. I had the same concerns as you regarding color and ipod/iphone outlet on the rear. This HU glows red for the most part, with some buttons glowing blue. But overall it blends in pretty well. It has the rear plug for your ipod/iphone devices as well. I can snap some pictures for you if you'd like.

Im with Jean on this. i have a CDA105 in my car and it blends pretty well. the only issue i have is that the steering wheel blocks my view of the left 6 blue buttons. if i were to change id get an iDA-X305 though.

I have been a fan of several JVCs lately, but I truly detest their control interface. 4 steps to get to sub level control? Laaaaaame. Also, the bluetooth sucks and the USB is very limited.

I really should contact at least one of the deck makers. 99% of my customers like the idea of a plain, simple deck with good basic features and controls and ZERO graphics.

^^^This is such a winner it's sick.^^^ Luke, besides the Pioneer's you mentioned, is there another (reasonably priced, currently manufactured) HU that's a good blend of acoustic, looks and sound quality? I am also looking at JVC series as their colors seem to match e30 amber well.

I like that new series pretty well too, but only because Panasonic makes them. Alpine finally will be reliable!

For me, there is nothing even close to the Denon DCT Z1 in terms of looks. Imagine this is a satin black with orange illumination:
