Need a head unit with a rear USB... Options?

Looking for a head unit with a REAR USB hookup for an iPod. Does not even need to have front aux/usb as I won't use them. Does not need to be anything fancy, I have no amps or subs. Would prefer $200 and under.

    Thanks,
    Matt

FWIW Jordan recommended the Kenwood KDC-X995 to me which can be found for $210 through Amazon.

The thing I am not liking with it is there are no easy access preset buttons.

I used to have a Kenwood kiv 700, best head unit I've owned. No cd player but it's basically built for ipods so it's great if you have one.

JVC KD-A900bt can be found on ebay for $125 and is recommended by luke. Hot little stereo too. I just ordered the 925 because it has more eq functions.

Everything JVC I have ever owned never worked correctly and broke very fast. I am a Kenwood guy these days.
I bought a cheap Kenwood that had CD changer capabilities, and hooked up a Kenwood i-pod interface to it (the interface I found for 10 dollars!!!) even charged my old ipod gen. 5- my newer one doesn't though! and can control it through the deck.

That one looks nice but I think I'd prefer to have the CD option in case I want to pop something in.

I'm a little skeptical on JVC as well. I've always though they were a "cheap" brand. Although I'm not exactly in the expensive price point here, lol.

I am thinking of going with Jordan's suggestion of the Kenwood though. I really do like the way this unit looks. I love the fact that the whole thing isn't bright silver, it can be set to amber, and the CD slot is hidden.

                  It's worth the extra money.
It's has a rear USB, but it also has a rear Full speed iPod connectivity.
It matches the interior illumination well.
                  Does pandora.

I'll find you a good price.

Second thought. That Kenwood is nice..

I've had the exact opposite experience. Every kenwood deck I've ever owned cost over $300 and never worked right for more then 6 months. Every JVC I've ever owned was under 200 and worked flawless and sounded great. Alpines have been 50/50. And from what I've read on the car audio forums the new JVCs are the bees knees and the kenwoods are kind of a paine to navigate.

I agree with you on the silver as well. One of the benefirts of getting the 925 instead of the 900 is all that silver gets removed. Well worth the extra $35 in my book. And it has all the pros you mentioned in for the kenwood. Although the kenwood does look sleeker it just reminds me of my alpine ida.

ive got the kenwood x-995 and love it. if you dont need all the bells and whistles it has, get the model down. its a little cheaper, just doesnt have pandora, and a little less eq. i beleive its the 895.

I didn't install it myself but it's in the car and working great! I haven't had a lot of time to play with it yet since I only drive the car a 1-2 times a week but I love it already. Takes a bit to adjust all the settings but after that's done all is well.

Sound quality is WAY better with the Kenwood vs my old Nakamichi.
