Well shit lol. I've never done a stereo, but I'm not a retard I know I can hook all the wires up correctly. So what else do I have to do besides connect the wires and get the wires from the fader.

take the fader out. your HU already has one (if ur installing an aftermarket HU).
Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

OK, so here is what to do:

Remove the fader from the dash and unplug it.

Grab that fader harness and unwrap it until you get to the main junction point. You should recognize it when you see it, you will see that the blue and yellow wires run from deck to the fader.

Separate the wires enough that I can see them and post a pic of it.

Ultimately, you need to have 8 speaker wires at the deck: 4 positives and 4 negatives, 1 pair per speaker and no interconnections at all, no wire can be shared. Make sense?

Makes perfect sense besides there wasn't a previous deck in the car just a hole with wires everywhere so I will try to locate the blue and yellow wires I'm heading outside right now so pics will be up asap.

You will see the blue and yellow are just loops from the deck to the fader: remove them completely.

What you are hoping to find is the 4 "twisted pairs" that will be yellow/red and some form of brown wire, blue/red again with a brown, yellow/black (remember "black stripe" positive on BMWs) and again brown, then blue/balck.

If you see the main ground junction in that harness, it is easy stuff, but you may yet run new wires to the front speakers.

                          Fuck.

You have the earlier harness that has he stupid ground junction under the seat I bet.

What production date is your car?

You are gonna have to just give up and run new wires into the front speakers

Its an 85. Fuck I really didn't want to run new wires:(
any other ways i can get around it. Between this and my obc replacement fail today I'm about to burn this fucker to the ground.

Well I'm just going to run new speaker wire and I only have to do that to the fronts right? Also you say BMW wire is better then aftermarket wire should I just run new speaker negatives?

This is what I was suppose to find but on my car that is under my seat somewhere?=running new wires is easier
