Id go + to + and - to - on the sub and get 2ohm load, and se if the amp can live with it before i change anything.
And that "spare" speakercable makes a resistance who at least dont help u out..

That is how it is wired right now, hence why he is blowing fuses.

I don't don't know what you mean by "spare speakercable", but it would take a hundred feet or more of speaker cable to affect sound quality or power handling.

Thats strange, ive newer blown a single fuse because of low resistance..
Is the amp wired as mono or is the sub just on one of stereo channels?

As for those hundreds of feet i think ur wrong..
The more cable the more resistance, and a bundle like that makes it worse.

it's monster cable so i'm sure it shouldn't affect it since it's good quality...? I could be wrong. And I sold the L7 today for 125 sooo new planing is underway

              As said above, No.

2 channel amps wired in mono cannot go below a 4 ohm load, generally. That Kenwood sure as hell won't. Using half an amps channels (to make a simple explanation) only gets one side of the amp hot and will burn it up quicker (thermal imbalance).

You really should learn more before offering advice, especially here, OK?

Do it do it do it. I'm seriously in love with my LukeBox, and my friends that have dumped hundreds more than me into huge sub setups are all super jealous. Mine may be a little bit quieter than theirs, but the sound is so much cleaner and unilke them I still have a usable trunk :)

First off, when you are talking ohms with a subwoofer, you are not talking about resistance, you are talking about impedance. BIG difference.

Second, go measure the resistance of a piece of wire with a multimeter. Reads zero, doesn't it? Even 400 feet will likely read zero, not because there is no resistance, but because there is VERY little resistance, so little most multimeters won't be able to measure it. Speaker wire length is irrelevant.

You might get some interference if you had a bunch of wire looped and tied together causing inductance, but that is a whole nother story.

Well, I bought my first car stereo in -88 and have had at least 5 cheap amps wired mono and in 2 OHM without them blowing fuses or burning up.

As for offering advice, ive seen your name before..
For sure u got something smart to say somethimes, but most of the time you tell people their stereo is crap and tries to sell them your shit.
                    Whats that for an advice..

Never mentioned resistance and subwoofer ohm in the same sentence..
Said that a bundle of cable (at high load) makes resistance. If u dont agree mabe its time to take a class, or something..

Second, so if i change out the wiring on the speakers in my livingroom to 250 m of 1mm/2 i wont be able to tell any difference at all then?

                                You're an incompetent fool.

Do you realize that he could ban your ass with three mouse clicks?

Probably wouldn't be a good idea to piss off a well respected community member. How many members are banging down your door to develop products for their cars? How many members BESIDES Luke, post about how great the GAS E30 "Lukebox" of whatever version it is, sounds wonderful in their car?

Take a seat. Try to learn something and don't get too much anal pain when R3V (as a whole) tell you that you're an idiot.
