license plate check panel light on, but lights are good

    Yeah, it was! Until the check light came on again! So, turns out it doesn't matter which bulb I use in my socket, I think it was just the fact that I took my sockets out to look at them. I might have twisted the bulb in the rusty socket a bit, which probably cleared just enough resistance to make it work but it was quite short lived, unfortunately.

    So far, I haven't seen a new bulb socket online for the dual filament bulb in the rear - only for the third brake light. For the rear, it looks like you'd have to get either a used one, or a new entire tail light fixture. Unless somebody knows a place?

      I also wasn't using all dealer bulbs. Could be that or could be both. Rusty sockets and incorrect metal bases on my bulbs. One day I'll find out.

        Did you ever clean the contacts in the check panel diode pack? That almost always fixes it.
