I have a tiny bit of vintage home audio background, and I've replaced the crossover capacitors on numerous sets of home box speakers with good results. The caps apparently get worn out and don't sound as good as they did when new. With the premium speakers in my car being 25 years old now, would replacing/upgrading the caps help with sound?

I have done it when going with aftermarket mids and stock tweeters but I used a different capacitance than stock so I can't say that simply using a new cap with the same capacitance would make a difference. If I had to guess, I would say no, not big enough to tell, but it's worth a shot, they are cheap anyway."I'd probably take the E30 M3 in this case just because I love that little car, and how tanky that inline 6 is." - thecj
