I'd like to pull codes on the newer vehicles in the home fleet and play with the laptop to see all the data the obd2 spits out. I've seen that some even have realtime dashboards that you can put stuff like coolant temp and oil pressure on your laptop. I love that idea, since I'm not putting an a-pillar pod in my wife's cr-v to monitor her oil pressure. I hate going to autozone to rent their little scanner everytime I throw a code. There are software packages that are hundreds of dollars and cables from ebay for hardly anything.
Is there a package that is widely used and freeware that the kids in the tuning scene use?
I found obd2crazy and scantool.net as well as some smaller operations. I figured there had to be a sourceforge freeware somewhere... Maybe? What are the cool fast and furious kids using?
