    1987 325is Eletronics issue

This car is a mess. The 87 325is, manual transmission, had a aftermarket ignition and the power windows, fan and mirrors would only work in key position two, weird. I had West Werks replace the ignition and key and now none of these items work. I checked fuses and K5 and K7 relays, yes and the window kill switch-still nothing. Grounds are good. There is no power getting to these devices. Where do I start?

Verify power at the devices themselves. Then if none, trace it back to the OEM fuse blocks. Be sure to check the fuses with a test light with the ignition ON. Pulling each fuse out and looking for a break is a poor technique to test fuses. They must be tested while installed and with power running through them.

Each side of the fuse must show the same voltage potential. If one side is ground, the other must show ground not "open."

The electronics troubleshooting manual will be a must have for this repair, you can download it by searching this site for it or ETM.
