Home audio sub in an e30?

My grandfather gave me a paradigm 8 subwoofer. I was wondering if anyone had placed a home audio sub in their car. Is it possible? http://www.paradigm.com/products/arc...paradigm/pdr-8

You sure can, all you need is a 120 volt power inverter, or bypass its amp and use a car audio amp

Yeah i was thinking something like that would work. The sub supposedly has an amp inside. Whats the best way to wire or connect it?

iv done it but the sub will only run at Half power because i think House speakers Run at 8ohms and cars are 4 or less Ohms at least thats what i have been told by a couple people

Besides the impedance issue, I don't think home audio equipment is designed to work in a car environment filled with heat cycles and vibrations. Why not just get the right gear?
