    interior lights flicker

My interior lights kind of flicker with the car running. They go dim then bright, then dim then bright, etc. Car has a brand new alternator and the battery should be good also. They do this constantly and not associated with rpms. Possible issues?

Electrical issue for sure. I would check the interior lights grounds. They are probably located above the brake pedal alongside the cluster grounds. Check the ETM manual to locate all interior lights grounds. Clean those grounds with wire brush.

Also check your engine ground cable from your oil pan to frame rail. This cable carries ground from the engine (and alternator) back to the battery. Be sure it is in good condition, not corroded or greasy. Clean those connections too. If you need replacements, send me a PM or check out my thread on engine grounds.

Did this problem occur with the old alternator?

Did your new alternator come with a new voltage regulator?

well i actually just finished an m30 motor swap. The issue was not present before hand. And yes, the alternator came with new voltage regulator.

Does the engine ground need to be from the oil pan? Mine is currently ran from the motor mount bracket bolted to engine, to the chassis ground point.

It should be from anywhere the engine block is bolted to or "has electrical continuity" with the engine block to the frame rail.

I just took a look at the ETM for my 1989 and there are two grounds in the window circuit.

              G200 above the brake pedal.
G300 behind left LH side of rear seat.

I would clean both connections points.
