    Thanks!
I don't have the Audi part number handy, but I don't believe they changed over the years. I just told the parts guys it was a 2003.

I don't have any pictures of the bracket alone, but it's just a flat piece of 2mm thick stainless steel cut to shape. Here's a couple of closeups of the lever/bracket.

You can also see the smaller metal plate I screwed on the top of the audi lever housing. This is to help secure the E30 release cable. I had to make a spacer to take up some of the slack in the cable. If you mount it exactly where the Audi cable would sit, then you would not have enough tension to release the bonnet. I made a spacer out of a 5 or 6mm bolt to take up the slack. I didn't take any photo's, but I just cut the head off the bolt and cut a groove along it's length. The inner cable then sit's in this groove. The plate just holds it in place.

I recently spotted this adjuster that would work perfecty. I believe they are used on old (British) motorcycles on the brake levers.

    Cheers,

    Ian.

so by the looks of it, the right hand drive cars have their hood release levers on the left side, just like our cars do?? wtf is up with that? i would expect that if bmw could move a whole steering assembly to the right side that they could create fuckin hood release on the right side so that the DRIVER can pull it from his/her side...

sorry to take it OT but my mind was boggled by the pic.
BMW moved as little as possible when they did the RHD versions. We still have the brake servo on the left side of the car. This has a linkage under the dash to connect from the pedals to the servo push rod.

If it didn't absolutely need to be moved then they didn't.

      Ian.

Those adjustable bolts you posted are very common adjusters on motorbikes. They look very similar to honda off-road ones. Any motorbike shop should be able to sort you out, I have about 5 different ones at home.

Thanks for those pics/info Ian. The parts dept. at the Audi dealer seemed a bit hopeless when I called them before, they didn't seem to know what I was asking for. I'll take that pic to them.

So looks like all I need is the handle, those adjusters, and a custom cut piece of metal. Nice.
            Thanks Ian!

I don't know if Audi part numbers are the same worldwide, but this is the part number from my invoice.

Germany is left hand drive, that's correct. Common mis-perception is Europe is all RHD, not true. The UK is the only RHD country in Europe, actually. However, that doesn't mean you can't drive RHD cars in the rest of Europe.

I travel to Europe pretty regularly, so I'm pretty used to seeing this.

In fact, the only places that are RHD are countries that used to be UK colonies. Such as India, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Austrailia. The exception is Japan, which was never a UK colony, but is RHD. I think the UK just had a significant hand in rebuilding the country after WWII.

But I've been to all these countries and I still get into the wrong side of the car when I try to go for a spin.

Yea I know that, I'm from England. South Africa is also RHD I believe, correct me if I'm wrong? It's just the other comment seemed like the poster thought that Germany was RHD.

                    AUDI IDIOTS!!!

I just got the TT handle, and it opens the OTHER WAY! The US one must be different.
So basically, if I were to mount it the same way, then it would not work, b/c I'd be pushing instead of pulling. Make sure that you get one from England!!!

                    The US part# was 1H1-823-533--01C
