E46 Key Fob Keyless Entry Install Wiring Guide.

I got the TNTAutoTuning.com E46 Key Fob Keyless entry unit working.

    Keyless Entry Unit: http://tntautotuning.com/store/en/re...-z4-x3-x5.html

This still gets installed in the trunk and still pulls 12v from the antennae motor.

Twist the blue and the Yellow/black wire on the Keyless Unit together.
Car Wire - Keyless Wire - Function
    Brown - Black - Ground
Red (Antennae) - Red - Powers the Unit
    Green/Black - Yellow - Lock
    Green/Purple - Brown - Unlock
Brown - Blue &Yellow/Black - Grounding for Units internal relays.

Here is an atrocious picture of it wired up:

I have not gotten it soldered together and cleaned up yet. My buddy came over and helped me get it sorted on a lunch break.

Looks nice man! I just installed mine from einstein last night.

At the antenna, is the red wire the constant +12v? I could have sworn it was white in my car...just a heads up from what I learned last night!

Does this unit have the "auto re-arm" problem?

I have no idea what this is. In troubleshooting it... we got it to lock, and then it would immediately unlock. Not quite sure what caused it to do that, but after making sure that none of the wires were touching and they had clean connections it started functioning as expected.

No the key will not fit at all. You have to go get E30 key blanks and have them cut and put onto the key fobs. I have not done this yet.

If you take a gander through the keyless entry sticky you will see a completed E46 fob retrofitted to the E30 key.

Was the drivers door open when you armed it and it unlocked it? My set up if the drivers door is open locks then quickly unlocks.

This is pretty cool. I have a working keyless entry system but it's really old. Would be great to combine the key and remote into one peice.. plus I might need that chip someday. :)
