Ignition key / switch & the chime

Hey buddies just a simple question: if you put in your ignition key in the ignition switch without any turn is there the chime chiming when you open the door?

Or is the chime chiming first if the ignition key is turned one step to the first level (accy / radio) when the door is opened?

    Thanks a lot!

as soon as you put the key in and you keep the door open, it will chime.

Thanks! Are you absolutely sure about that? I'm just irritated because in germany there is no ignition key warning if you open the door and the key is the ignition switch.

Because of that i wanted to know how it works. I've asked in the forum and someone sent me a ignition lock and the switch from canada.

This switch has two more cables as the german part has. I had a look in the circuit diagram and identified the two needed cables for the ignition key warning function.

But when I've tested it with my multimeter there is no connection if the key is simply put in. The first connection is occurred if I turn the key to step 1 (accy / radio).

(Ignition switch: step 1 = radio / step 2 = all on / step 3 = motor start (automatically return to step 2).

My situation simplified (with door open):
          1. key simply put in the ignition switch = nothing
          2. key put in and turn to step 1 = connection established, chime chiming

Your cars chiming on nr. 1?

          Thanks!

            hahahaha fuck the chime

i got in a prank war with a friends, so i hid his door chime behind the hvac box and wired it to stay on ALWAYS, he said he left work and got about a mile before pulling over and was pretty confused when it wasn't where it should be lol
