    Mystery switch under steering wheel panel

    So today i clicked a switch under the steering wheel with my knee... I have no clue what it could be any thoughts. Im pretty sure this was custom work.

    kill switch or fan switch. or it could be connected to nothing

        it came with the factory late e30 alarm. would it be for that?

              There is no such thing. Installed at the dealership using BMW parts, perhaps, or even at the port of entry, but no such thing as a proper "factory installed" alarm in an E30, ever. Which means things are not always the same, even if it seems stock, part of it was the installers choice in locations and settings.

              So, that being said, that is the typical place the dealers installed the "OE" valet switch...which is retarded, they get kicked and broken. Yours looks like a replacement switch...but might not do anything until your key is turned on.

              Drop that panel, post a pic of the alarm brain, lets find out what that is.

              If the wires are red and red/white, it is for sure the valet switch.
