What does your stereo head unit look like?

Post pictures of your head units here.

I'm new to E30 ownership and, among a laundry list of other things to fix, I'd like to ditch the PO's stereo and install something a little more of a stock look and a little less of a "steal me now" look.

Ideally, I'd like to have a modern stereo with USB/Aux input, with or without a CD player. More than anything else, I don't want something that looks out of place in my 21 year old E30.

*I did read BMWMAN91's thread on adapting a CD43 face to a JVC head unit. Awesome and enviable as that is, it's a bit out of my capability!

I chose this Clarion CZ702 because even though it's piano black (I couldn't find anything in flat black with modern features), it has the least amount of shiny crap adorning it among any of the decks I looked at, and it fit my budget.

I did, which is how I found BMWMAN91's thread, but I still haven't found any threads on good, non-flashy head units. If you know of a thread or better search terms, let me know!

        Thanks in advance.

Keep the stock head unit and install a new one in the glove box or some other hidden location, then route the wiring to the new one.

Unfortunately, that's about as "matching" as you are going to get. Equally importantly, it sounds great compared to the Pioneer and Alpine units that I have tried.

I have a JVC KD-X50BT - no CD, but it has iPhone, bluetooth, front and rear USB . . . who uses physical media anymore? Plus it comes with a microphone and dedicated phone button when using bluetooth, so the people's voice comes through my speakers.

Amazon has it for $81 free shipping. Plus, you can customize the dial colors to match the interior's red color. Looks darn good too.

I ran my iPhone cable to stick out the bottom in between the dash and the cubby hole where the lighter is. So it is super clean. I can control everything including the phone via a small wireless remote - advancing tracks, turning up and down the volume, etc.

I only have her on the weekends, so no pics now. But you have google to see the head unit . . .

This is exactly why I have my stock headunit in my dash and an aftermarket one hidden in the glovebox. It's much more inconvenient, but I have a convertible that I drive with the top down every day that it doesn't rain, and I have never seen an aftermarket unit that looks better or as good in the e30 dash as a stock one.
The first car I ever rode in was an e30
