so i recently urchased a e30 and imbuilding it up. and right now im on the audio part orf it. but previous owner had radio stolen and all the wire wher yacked out. i tool apart the center dash since it was broken. i have ill put together but when i go to seperate the wires for the radio i can only locate the speaker wire and antena. there is no power or ground conection i can not find it.there are no ripsed wires or nothing its like there gone.

    solutions:

    1] get new radio harness

    or

2] run new radio power and ground cables. only problem i dont know where to run the wire to. if i go straight to the battery the radio will never turn off

please help and trust i have been seaching

Run the power wire from an ignition source, ground it up to any brown wire or the chassis.

Do you have a premium sound system? (with amp)

not sure on the colors however I would suggest using a test light and locating a power source that only works with your ignition on.

You also need to run a single wire to your amps to turn them on with the head unit. The same ignition wire should be fine just put an in line fuse near the amp.
