Headunitless Stereo System?

what are the advantages to running a JL Audio CL-RLC vs wiring rca's directly to a 4 channel amp for use of only ipod control? is sound quality any better, couldn't you just buy a amp with a variety of adjustment for channel 1&2 and 3&4. it seems people are over complicating things

I was going to do this, but I gotta say streaming wireless from the phone to the speakers via bluetooth is the way to go. $130 pioneer deck and it sounds great.
Plus you get speakerphone option.
