I was just thinking about it...my friend's 325is has the door locks where you can lock/unlock all the doors from the trunk and the drivers door (prob the pass door too but i don't know). My 318is doesn't do that...are the 318is supposed to? Or is this just one of the million reasons that a 318 is lighter than a 325?

Ohh, I know this one :)
Your car does not have central locking. I always thought that ALL E30's had it, but apparently some of the later (most, if not all 318i/is) do not have it.
I know, because I thought it had central locking back when it was my car- and when I looked for the lock solenoids- they weren't there!!

Next time I am at your farm do you think we could look and see if I did have it and if its just broken or if its not there....where would the solenoids be if they were there?///Alpinweiß II 24v 91' 318is, Alpinweiß III 99' 323i, 04' Yamaha R6 SE for sale, 00' VW GTi, 83' El Camino BURNED, 01' P71sold, 92' Miatasold

Trust me, your car does NOT have central locking- unless Nick installed it without telling anyone...... :)
There are solenoids on each door lock, plus the trunk + the fuel filler door. The trunk + fuel filler are the easiest to see, just pull back the trunk liner and look for the plastic rectangular box that is the solenoid. But you won't find them on that car...
