Wipers were working fine for 5 mins in the rain then all of a sudden one would hit the other, so I re aligned it tighten down the hex nut. The wipers still hit one another. Now I'm relying on my driver side wiper but it goes too far past the windshield and rest's halfway on the windshield. I did also try to tighten it down but still doesnt work.

You either stripped the drive splines on the spindle or more likely the driven splines inside the wiper arm. Hope its the latter but it will be obvious when the arm is offSeat Shocks....I have passed the baton to John Christy from Ninestitch. Email John or Garrett at ninestitch1@gmail.com

You're assuming its the linkage when it may just be the wiper arm.Seat Shocks....I have passed the baton to John Christy from Ninestitch. Email John or Garrett at ninestitch1@gmail.com

If it is the linkage there are two removal methods, one is to use the motor to rotate the arms and work it out by rotating the arms to a place where it can be slid out. The other way is to remove the nut on the bottom of the motor and the ball joint on the end of the linkage by the wiper blade on the driver side then rotate the linkage and pull it out. Either way it has to come out through the large hole in the fire wall. It's not easy but if you take your time it's not too hard. It's a perfect time to go mono wipe if you like that stuff.

I just got through replacing the wiper linkage in my car, and let me tell you, it is not the most fun job to do on an E30. But, like everyone else has said, be patient, and grease everything up once you've got it all out.
Anybody that has had to put themselves through this job will have the scars (physical and emotional) to prove it.Comment
