electronics messed up now...

just replaced my ignition switch and now my windows wont go down and when i first drove my car the tach worked and now ~2 hrs later it doesn't.
any help to as what could cause this would be much appreciated.

That dosnt make any sense.
For the windows check that the braker is pressed and the red isn't showing.
If your mirrors work then that's probably your problem.
If your mirrors also don't work it might be a fuse

My guess is it is unrelated to the ignition switch wiring, but was caused by you playing around under the dash. I would start by taking a look and seeing if there is anything obviously not right, like spliced wires or possibly an aftermarket alarm.

okay got the window situation figured out. didnt have the breaker plugged in.
now onto the tachometer. Is there anything that could cause it to stop working

The MPG gauge and tach share the same signal. So if one works, while the other does not, the problem is in the cluster.

The signal comes directly from the ECM and I don't think there are any connectors in that wire, it runs directly to the cluster. Black wire, blue connector.

Most likely your SI board batteries just died unless you have replaced them before.
