Headlights/Dashlights Malfunctioning

Have an E30 323i M52 and my headlights are intermitently shutting off. At the same time all the dash warning lights come on and stay on. Occasionally when the car is cold everything goes back to normal but they always fail eventually. Have changed out the turn signal switch but that didn't help. Any ideas?
