So I've been having problems with both my temp and fuel gauges it is an I cluster and everything else works fine. Temp gauge is the worst it rarely gives an accurate temp reading and constantly bounces around. Could this be a ground issue or a sensor issue?

The gas gauge is directly connected to the sensors in the gas tank. You can try cleaning those contacts.
The temp gauge is powered and controlled by the SI board. If you never replaced the batteries in the SI board or replaced the SI board with a known working one, that should fix the temp gauge problems. See my thread on the topic for more info.
Lastly, the cluster main board can develop cracks in the solder joints where the pins meet the board or the electrical traces can crack causing an "open" circuit and thus intermittent or no operation.Owner - Bavarian Restoration
