ATTENTION CONVERTIBLE OWNERS: New 'Vert boxes

We are FINALLY ready to accept payments for both Power Top and Manual 'Vert boxes. Justin has announced the jigs are finished.

This is a freshened-up design with a few minor changes allowing for far bigger 8" woofers such as the Alpine TypeR or Rockford Fosgate P2 or even the big Digital Design DD3508.

Yes, this means you can use MUCH bigger woofers!

If you have been waiting as many have, please take just a moment and drop us a line here or email. These can ship as early as midweek, please contact us quickly if you want in now.

Pricing will be $220 for manual top or $280 for the PTV.

Same price for gray or black. If you plan on getting one of our amp racks, we recommend black.

Prepaid orders before Midnight (Pacific) Wednesday (5/1/2013) will get free shipping and a free T shirt!

Please contact us for payment instructions.

    Thanks!

    Luke and Justin,

paid! now I really need some help with the subs...let's say you wanted to spend up to $100 per 8" sub...and wanted the best sound quality for that budget, which would you chose?

my plan is Focal Access 2 ways up front and coaxials in the back, driven by a Kenwood Excelon Head Unit and Excelon 5 ch amp.

Is there any modification possible for those of us who have the old style vert box to use larger woofers?

The amp I'm looking at is 40 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms + 300 watts x 1 at 4 ohms. In order to run 2x 8" subs off that single sub channel would I want 2,4, or 8 ohm subs? Sorry, for the newbish question.

300 at 4 ohm but not capable of 2 ohm? Which amp?

You want to end up at 2 ohms on bass. 500 watts on 2 ohms, 250 watts on 4 ohms...all you have to do is buy the correct woofers.

                        You can do 2 DVC 2 ohm/coil OR 2 SVC 4 ohm.

Do NOT get the typical DVC 4ohm/coil woofer, you will only get 1/2 power from that amp.

Thanks! exactly what I was looking for.

did some more searching...I think I'm going with 2 Rockford Fosgate P2D2-8 Punch P2 DVC 2 Ohm subs. back in the day when I was even more clueless I would run the speaker wire from the amp to one voice coil and then a short speaker wire from that voice coil to the other. Is that acceptable practice or better to run 4 speaker wires, 1 to each voice coil from the amp?

You will have to series something, typically I would run each woofer in series and paralell the two woofers.
