OEM radio will not work!

So the oem radio in my 91 325ix will not work. Anyone know what it could be?? There is one black plugin that is just hanging there but I don't know where it goes. ill get some pictures of wiring up in a bit.

Stock radios go bad by a bad knob and volume control or thumping noises from the speakers but never heard one just shutting down completely if that's what you mean?
Which exact oem radio is it and post up pics of the plug you're talking about.
I just went through this with my stock radio.

That extra plug is not used.

check your radio fuse in the fuse box first; then check the fuse in the back of the radio. it's a really stubby glass tube fuse behind a plastic cover where the black plug goes in.
