    tapping into radio switched power....question

    hey..

Im not near car, and forgot the notes I jotted down.

The wires entering at the back of an oe head unit on my 90i..specifically the violet/gray switched power wire .....are those 20 or 22g?....I recall they seemed smaller than the 18g Im using w/ my autometer gauges...

Im about to buy some posi taps.....and need to be sure...

    thanks!

They are .75mm^2. Remember all hardware in BMW's is metric. I believe the equivalent in imperial is 18awg.

      thank you ......

.never knew of the metric system re wire gauge! .......

So it appears it is approx bet 18-19 g.....I must say if it is @ 18-19 gauge then it must have very thin insulation as it is clearly thinner than the generic 18g I purchased locally........or the 18g I purchased has much thicker insul...lol.....Ill know more once i strip back the insul on both to compaRE....
