    Not sure where to start?

Currently I have a E30 with air ride that is hooked up to the battery. My car has a aftermarket Sony radio but the speakers are from 1988 with the top down I cant even hear the music on the highway.

I just want to add my old set up from my E46: MTX Sub with Kicker mono amp combo to the car and a brand new Kenwood Excelon component set that has never been used.

But when I put the windows up or use the turn signal the lights dim.

Do I need to get a new battery? or alternator?
Can a regular battery handle a Mono amp and the air compressor?

Your 80's electrical infrastructure was not designed to handle the load of all the current electronics.

I would start with a new battery, upgraded or rebuilt alternator, and upgraded alternator/ground cables. I sell these cables, which I have no doubt, are better built quality and more massive than any other production. You can check them out in my signature. I built these cables specifically for cars with big sub woofer amps, and after market electronics such as your air compressor.
