12v/cigarette socket adapters?

Why not try a rubber O ring that is slightly larger than the plug/smaller than the socket at the top. If my thinking isn't too far off it will give the plug a bit more support so it doesn't lean and loose contact with the base of the socket (which is usually the problem I've dealt with). Would
Make it convenient because you could just roll the o ring up and out of the way when transferring to other vehicles.

I really want the male plug on the detector cord within reach and anchored somewhat solidly so I can use its mute functionality. That's one of the reasons why I'm trying to find a solution for the stock socket location.
