now I should qualify that I'm not an audiophile and the stereo in my car is probably the last thing I care about. I have a Blaupunkt MP3 deck that suits my needs perfectly and I'm fairly happy with my audio quality.
However, yesterday I was replacing my drivers side tweeter pod with the one from my parts car (I had broken mounting tabs), and I changed the balance on my stereo to just the front speakers to see if the new pod worked fine. What I found was that about 75% of my sound is coming from the rear speakers, when I move the balance to 100% forward there is barely anything, and when I move it to 100% back it sounds almost the same as 50/50. I have the stock premium speakers, and as far as I knew they were the same speakers front to rear.
So what could it be? Wiring, blown speakers? the tweeters seem okay but there's just no volume up front, but the rears actually sound pretty good for what they are. Both speakers are using the stock wires, with new wires between the deck to the stock ones. I'm thinking that is most likely my problem.
